Senior Software Engineer at Pleevi

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be the cornerstone of our pioneering engineering team at Pleevi. As one of the first technical hires, you'll have a significant impact on shaping our product/architecture and engineering culture from the ground up. What you'll do

• System Design and Optimization: Design and implement scalable systems, optimize for performance and cost efficiency, and iterate on our unique optimization algorithm for planning charging sessions.

• API Development and Microservices: Work extensively with API-driven architectures (e.g., FastAPI) and microservices to build modular, high-performance components that power our EMS scheduling platform.

• Infrastructure: We are working on a migration of our tech stack to AWS. This implies that part of our initial work will be on IaaC (K8S/Terraform/…).

• Champion Best Practices: Establish and uphold software development standards, testing methodologies, and efficient development processes.

• Strategic Vision: Contribute to defining our project roadmaps. We decide together on the shape of our technical/product roadmap.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our CEO and CTO to adapt to market needs.

• Mentorship and Leadership: We plan to expand the technical department in the upcoming 2 years to 6 people. We are looking for someone who can not only mentor but also grow into a leadership role as we scale.

Job requirements

• Technical Expertise: You have deep expertise in Python, Docker, K8S, AWS, FastAPI, and are proficient in system design with a focus on scalability and performance. Experience with API design, microservices, and understanding of energy systems (preferred but not required) will set you apart.

• Problem-Solving Skills: You are comfortable tackling complex problems, whether it's improving performance, optimizing for cost-efficiency, or evolving the architecture to meet changing needs.

• Software Development Methodologies: You are well-versed in agile processes, test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and DevOps practices.

• Mentorship and Communication: You have demonstrated excellent mentorship abilities and communication skills, crucial for shaping our future team.

• Entrepreneurial Mindset: You are driven, proactive, and comfortable working in a startup environment, bringing new insights and innovative solutions to the table.
